Diane Lim brings over 40 years of experience as an economist specializing in the distributional effects of public policies. Before recently retiring from federal service, her last role was as Director of the Equity Hub at the U.S. Treasury Department, and prior to that she was Policy Director of the House Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth. She has held many other prominent roles in the federal government, nonprofit, and academic sectors, including serving as chief economist for multiple congressional committees and as a senior economist at the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. A former professor and dedicated thought leader, Diane is a founding advisory board member of the University of Virginia’s Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and a past president of the National Tax Association. Her "Economist Mom" blog earned a top 10 economics blogs honor from the Wall Street Journal in 2009.
Diane currently serves on the board of Shelter House, a northern VA nonprofit combatting homelessness and domestic violence. She is mom to four adult children and grandma to two granddaughters, has taught yoga part time for over 20 years, and lives in Fairfax, VA with her husband and her rescue animals (two cats and a dog).
