From Cultural Friction to Community Resilience

Public employees regularly navigate cultural differences, communication challenges, and community mistrust, particularly during times of disruption and change. This interactive workshop introduces the Cultural Resilience and Response Framework™, an innovative model inspired by public health and emergency management. Participants will explore how the five phases of prevention, preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery can be applied to strengthen culturally responsive public service, foster trust, and build resilient communities.

The workshop also integrates the Personal Leadership Framework, emphasizing creativity, mindfulness, and six leadership practices that help public servants respond thoughtfully to cultural complexity while remaining grounded in shared values.

Participants will:

  • Learn the Cultural Resilience and Response Framework™.

  • Apply the framework to real-world public service scenarios.

  • Practice personal leadership strategies for navigating cultural challenges.

  • Develop practical actions to strengthen trust, belonging, and community resilience.
